On Friday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he has American purchasers ready for TikTok and indicated that he might prolong the deadline for ByteDance, the China-based parent company, to sell the app's U.S. assets. He also mentioned that he does not harbor any privacy or security concerns.

While addressing reporters, Trump stated that he has not yet discussed the short video application with Chinese President Xi Jinping but plans to do so at an appropriate moment.
