Inflation rose less than expected last month, yet an analysis of core price increases shows a rise in tariff-related pressures. Consumer prices went up by 0.2% in July, keeping the annual inflation rate at 2.7%, according to the latest Consumer Price Index data released on Tuesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Economists had anticipated a modest increase in inflation last month, predicting a rise to 0.2% from June and an annual rate of 2.8%, according to reports.
