President Donald Trump stated on Saturday that the United States will take control of Venezuela following the capture of President Nicolás Maduro.

"We are going to manage the country until we can ensure a safe, proper, and judicious transition," he remarked during a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. "We aim to prevent a situation where another individual takes over, leading to the same circumstances we have experienced for many years. Therefore, we will oversee the country."

Trump did not specify a timeline for the expected transition of power.
