President Donald Trump is anticipated to hold a press conference later this morning to unveil plans to reduce violent crime in Washington, DC. Since February, Trump has repeatedly warned of a federal intervention in the capital, asserting on his social media platform that, "Crime in Washington, DC, is completely out of control." Nonetheless, initial statistics from DC police indicate that this year's crime rates are lower than last year's. Trump also expressed his intention to make the Capital safer and more visually appealing than ever, insisting that the homeless population must leave immediately. "We will provide you with accommodations, but FAR from the Capital," Trump posted on Sunday. He did not specify what services would be offered or the locations to which the homeless population would be relocated.
