More than 40 people remain missing after a boat accident in Nigeria, where a vessel with 50 passengers heading to a famous market in northwest Sokoto State overturned on Sunday, according to the country's emergency agency. The passengers were traveling to Goronyo market, a notable food produce market in the area, when the incident occurred. Zubaidar Umar, the head of the National Emergency Management Agency, stated on the social media platform X that ten people have been rescued.
