The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has cautioned media outlets, public commentators, bloggers, and content creators against speculative or unverified reports about the helicopter crash on August 6 in Adansi, Ashanti region, which claimed the lives of eight people, including Defence Minister Dr. Omane Boamah. In a statement by Captain V.A. Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the GAF expressed concern over the rise in speculative and unverified information concerning the incident, stressing that such reports can mislead the public and increase the grief of the affected families. The GAF acknowledged the significant public interest in the tragedy and confirmed that thorough investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash. "In respect for the bereaved families and their loved ones, the Armed Forces urge media professionals, panelists, social commentators, bloggers, and content creators to report cautiously, as a way to honor the deceased heroes and ease the sorrow of the grieving families," the statement highlighted. The Ghana Armed Forces assures the public that every effort, including possible collaboration with international experts, will be made to provide closure on this tragedy. "At this point, any conclusions based on opinions, perceptions, and conjectures would be premature and misleading. Therefore, the public is advised to treat such reports with caution," the statement emphasized.
