Putin claims that the United States is making 'vigorous' attempts to conclude the conflict in Ukraine

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned that the United States is taking steps to stop the war in Ukraine during a meeting with senior Russian officials ahead of the summit with US President Donald Trump in Alaska on Friday. Before leaving for Alaska, Putin led a meeting with members of the negotiating team who will join him at the summit, including Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, to brief them on the progress of the negotiation process concerning the Ukrainian crisis. Putin commented, "The current American administration... is making, in my opinion, quite vigorous and genuine efforts to end hostilities, resolve the crisis, and reach agreements that are beneficial to all parties involved in this conflict."
